The Office of the Executive Vice President (EVP) reports to the President. The EVP has a wide range of responsibilities, ranging from overseeing the facilities and maintenance across the campus, preparing the campus master plan, attending and reporting at all executive, cabinet and board meetings, and ensuring the safety of the campus as a whole.
Dr. Sharron Taylor Burnett currently serves as the Executive Vice President for Lane College. Dr. Burnett is responsible for the oversight of all non-academic functions of the College. In addition, she serves as advisor to the President when called upon. Dr. Burnett is also responsible for the safety of the campus including, students, faculty, staff and visitors.
Dr. Burnett completed her doctoral work at The University of Memphis. Dr. Burnett is a Lane College graduate, who holds a Masters in Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to service as Executive Vice President, Dr. Burnett served as Assistant Vice President for Finance and Administration, ensuring the timely and accurate filing of all financial reports as well ensuring that the College had accounting principles and appropriate internal controls in place. Dr. Burnett has also served at other higher education institutions and in private sector in a wide range of capacities.
Dr. Burnett is a valuable employee to Lane College with a skill set that it utilized in extensive ways across campus.
