The mission of the Office of Institutional Advancement at Lane College is to facilitate communication, internally and externally; enhance the image of Lane College; provide meaningful programs and service to alumni and friends of the College; manage and maintain an effective alumni database; advance the educational opportunities and services of Lane College by generating resources from prospective donors/funders (i.e., alumni, friends, corporations, foundations, parents, employees); support and enhance the College's revenues; and manage the collection, distribution and documentation of charitable gifts to Lane College.Attorney Richard Hulon Donnell has been a part of the Lane College family for more than 10 years. Attorney Donnell came to Lane College after successfully running his private law firm for 15 years. Attorney Donnell served the students of Lane College as an Assistant Professor in Criminal Justice for a short period of time before becoming involved in the fundraising for the College as Director of Sponsored Programs. Attorney Donnell became Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement then moved to Vice President of Institutional Advancement in January of 2004.
Attorney Donnell holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and a Juris Doctor Degree. He is a member of several organizations that included, but are not limited to, Tennessee Advancement Resources Council, United Negro College Fund Advancement Officers Committee, and TICUA Advancement Officers Division. Attorney Donnell is intricately tied to the Jackson community and to Lane College. His services are of value to the campus and area as a whole.
