The Lane College Office of Student Affairs is structured to provide services and support for our students. The goal of the Student Affairs Office is to enhance student growth and personal development. Here at Lane, our Student Affairs professionals are charged with developing programming, advising all student organizations, overseeing residential life, health services and a variety of other services specifically designed for students.

Ms. Sherrill Scott is Lane College’s Vice President of Student Affairs. Ms. Scott is an experienced higher education administrator who demonstrates the ability to lead teams of professionals. Ms. Scott has a track record containing more than 30 years of hands-on experience in management, proposal writing, federal reporting and project management. She has served as an Assistant Vice President for Alumni Affairs, Director of Planning as well as the Special Assistant to the President.

In addition to functioning as the Vice President of Student Affairs, Ms. Scott also serves as the Title III Coordinator for the College. She has served in this capacity for eight years. Ms. Scott has extensive knowledge of higher education. Ms. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business with honors from Lane College. She also has a Masters in Business Administration which was completed at University of Tennessee at Martin.

Ms. Scott maintains an active calendar with a variety of professional appointments and assignments along with numerous civic affiliations. Ms. Scott’s skill set is utilized in numerous ways to advance the mission of Lane College.
