The Writing Center, located in the Learning/ Library Resource Center, serves as a supplementary resource for students seeking help on writing assignments. It is designed to create an environment where the student can focus on thinking, reading, writing, and research.
The Lab is staffed with a trained specialist who is available to assist students with their assignments. The goal is to assist the student in becoming an effective and independent writer. The Writing Center contains several computers with internet access. Additionally, computers in the Writing Center contain software that provides tutorials to enhance studentsí writing skills. The Writing Center is open Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The STEM Center is a computer-equipped laboratory designed to enhance the teaching and learning experience in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Students may receive additional assistance from the student mentors and from professors who spend part of their office hours in the Center. Students may also use the resources found in the Center to complete their homework and class assignments. In addition, professors may use the Center as a meeting place for their classes. The STEM Center is open 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Communication Arts Laboratory
The Communication Arts Laboratory provides equipment for students enrolled in Mass Communication courses. The Laboratory contains PCs, desktop publishing software, a laser printer, video and 35mm cameras, VCRs, and other video production equipment. The studio also contains new computerized production control rooms. These rooms are used to provide students with modern features and equipment to enhance learning through real world experiences.
