Services We Offer

The FYE is composed of the following components:

New Student Orientation (NSO)

Freshmen Week

– Activities and events offered to freshmen when they arrive on campus leading to the first day of class.

Freshman Orientation Class

– Instruction focused on assisting new students and freshmen in their academic and social adjustment to college; as well as providing them with skills for success.

Jump Start

– A series of seminars and events that introduce students to career opportunities, community service, internship possibilities, and other external resources that will help them to achieve their future goals.
 
  




Lane Internal Network Connection (LINC)

– Introduces students to the internal services and resources available to them at the college, as well as, developing vital relationships that serve to keep them connected to the college.

Keeping it Real

– Activities and residence sessions aimed at identifying, and addressing first year students’ issues and concerns.

Early Alert

–Monitoring first year students’ progress, and identifying those who may be at-risk.

Peer Mentoring

– A program for connecting first-year students with upper-class students to assist them in successfully navigating through the college experience.
