| | THE TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMWELCOMEWelcome to this website. We are pleased that you are interested in the teaching profession. The mission of the Teacher Education Program is to prepare aspiring teachers with strong content knowledge in all areas of specialization. Collaborating with other departments, the Teacher Education Program provides certification in elementary, middle, and high schools. Areas of specialization include Biology, Business, Chemistry, English, History, Interdisciplinary Studies, Mathematics, Music, and Sociology. Our faculty members are committed to helping you to become an educator in the field of your choice.
In our student-centered community, we offer the best that liberal arts and sciences can provide. Our focus is on your success. We have small classes that enable professors to push you to reflect as you investigate your passion. They will inspire and guide you on your path and get to know you as a person. They will become advisers and instill in you that learning is a lifelong endeavor.
Hopefully, your interest has been sparked. Continue to browse this website and learn about the Teacher Education Admissions Requirements as well as our Learning Outcomes. Fulfill your desire to become a teacher and remember the words from an unknown author, “A good teacher is like a candle; it consumes itself to light the way for others.”
