Books are checked out from the Lane College Library/Learning Resource Center at the circulation desk located on the second floor, near the exit. Materials can be kept for a period of two weeks and can be renewed. Near the end of each semester, shorter lending periods may be in effect.
Books are cataloged by the Dewey Decimal Classification System.
Students, faculty and staff with current Lane College identification cards may check out books. Community patrons and alumni are also extended library privileges for a small fee. Barcodes are placed on all patron ID cards. A patron registration application is required to complete this process.
Journals, newspapers and other non-book materials such as microfilm, microfiche and audio-visual equipment do not circulate.
Reserve materials generally circulate in-house for a two-hour period unless otherwise stated by the instructor.
Fines for overdue books from the General Collection are $ 0.10 per day per book, from the Negro Heritage Collection, $1.00 per day per book; and $1.00 per day for videocassettes. For lost or damaged books, the current price of the book plus a $5.00 processing fee will be charged.
