Lane College is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Anthony T. Williams Jr. as the new Chief of Staff to the President. Dr. Williams brings nearly 15 years of extensive experience as a student-centered student affairs professional to our institution. In his new role, he will be responsible for supporting the President, coordinating the Office of the President, and serving as a liaison to the Board of Trustees. Dr. Williams’ responsibilities also include ensuring operational efficiency, advancing strategic priorities, and providing confidential, sound counsel to the President and leadership team.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Williams has held numerous staff and executive positions at various colleges and universities nationwide. He is a nationally recognized restorative practitioner with expertise in organizational leadership, change-management, student conduct and conflict resolution, alternative dispute resolution, and social justice education and restorative practices facilitation.
Dr. Williams holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Management) from Chicago State University, a Master of Science in College Student Personnel Administration from Illinois State University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Urban Higher Education from Jackson State University.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Williams is an active member of several esteemed organizations, including the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the American College Personnel Association, the Association for Student Conduct Administration, and the Association for Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment. He is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and 100 Black Men of America.
