Dear Lane Community,

We have a blessed and busy start to the new academic year! I salute each of you for the positive contributions that you have made thus far. While I am pleased that many classes, meetings, and activities continue to be offered online, it has been a joy to have several of you back on campus.

Please know, as the Covid-19 delta variant rages across the nation, I commend you for keeping the positive rates low on campus. Nearly all our positive persons in isolation and quarantine are unvaccinated. Please get fully vaccinated. Echoing our 2021 Opening Convocation speaker, Dr. Olivia Lang, I encourage you to “be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead the people…” (Joshua 1:6).

The Labor Day holiday weekend provides our community a time to rest, renew, and recharge to do the important work of education for students, faculty, and staff. Please be safe and take care of yourself!

Grace, mercy, and peace,

Logan Hampton
President
