Jackson, Tenn. (February 3, 2020) - Lane College is excited to announce our Sixth Annual Founder’s Day Scholarship Dinner and Gala will feature Grammy-nominated artist Kelly Price at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, in the J.F. Lane Health and Physical Education Building on the Lane College campus. The Gala serves as the College’s yearly premier fundraiser.
Kelly Price, recently seen as a judge for the ninth season of the popular BET gospel singing competition "Sunday Best", has forged her own career path in music. She first earned the reputation as one of the industry’s most sought-after songwriters before becoming a nine-time Grammy-nominated artist in her own right.
Her first two albums, "Soul of a Woman" and "Mirror Mirror" both went platinum, launching Price to R&B prominence. Proving versatile in her gifts, Price returned to her roots and in 2006 her gospel album, "This Is Who I Am", debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Gospel Charts.
Price is well known for gospel favorites such as "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" and her rendition of "For Every Mountain".
We invite you to be a part of this special event by being a sponsor or purchasing a table. All funds derived from the dinner will be used for scholarships, awarded to the College’s worthy students.
