Lane College announces the upcoming departure of Dr. Ala'Torya V. Cranford, Interim Vice President of Student Affairs, effective September 5, 2025. Dr. Cranford has served the college with distinction, providing steadfast leadership and advocacy for student success during her tenure. Her contributions have left a lasting impact on the Lane College community, and she departs with the deepest gratitude and well wishes from students, faculty, and staff.
In alignment with the College’s commitment to continuity and excellence in student engagement, Dr. Anthony T. Williams Jr. will assume the role of Vice President of Student Affairs, effective September 6, 2025. Dr. Williams currently serves as Chief of Staff to the President, where he has played a pivotal role in strategic planning, communications, and executive coordination.
Dr. Williams brings a wealth of experience in higher education leadership, student development, and community engagement. His transition into this new role reflects Lane College’s ongoing dedication to fostering a vibrant and supportive campus environment.

In addition to this transition, Lane College is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Lorenzo Gooch as Chief Financial Officer, effective August 27, 2025. Mr. Gooch brings extensive experience in financial management and strategic fiscal planning within higher education. His leadership will be instrumental in advancing the College’s financial sustainability and operational excellence.
