Lane College Launches Inaugural Voices of Leadership: Executive Speaker Series, Bringing National Thought Leaders to West Tennessee

Voices of Leadership Executive Speaker Series


Jackson, Tenn. – August 1, 2025 — Lane College is set to elevate the conversation around leadership, innovation, and civic engagement with the launch of its inaugural Voices of Leadership: Executive Speaker Series. This four-part series, beginning August 21, 2025, will bring nationally recognized leaders to Jackson, Tennessee, for a dynamic exchange of ideas aimed at inspiring students, professionals, and community members alike.

Designed to foster dialogue on purpose-driven change, economic development, and justice, the series will run monthly through November. Each event will feature a full day of engagement, including intimate student sessions, strategic dialogues with institutional leadership, and a ticketed noon-day luncheon in partnership with the Greater Jackson Chamber of Commerce and other local organizations.

A Powerhouse Lineup

The 2025 Voices of Leadership: Executive Speaker Series features four distinguished speakers:

  • August 21 – Stephen M. R. Covey
    Author of Trust and Inspire and global authority on leadership and organizational trust
    Session Title: Trust and Inspire: Transforming Leadership for the Next Generation
  • September 18 – Rick C. Wade
    Senior Vice President of Strategic Alliances & Outreach, U.S. Chamber of Commerce
    Session Title: Building Bridges: Economic Power, Civic Engagement, and Inclusive Growth
  • October 16 – Robert B. Carter
    Retired Chief Information Officer, FedEx; Longest-serving CIO of any Fortune 50 company
    Session Title: Innovate with Purpose: Leading Through Technology and Change
  • November 20 – Beverly Robertson
    Principal, Trust Marketing; Retired CEO of the National Civil Rights Museum
    Session Title: Legacy and Leadership: Faith, Justice, and Community Transformation

With excitement, the inaugural speaker, Stephen M. R. Covey stated, "It is an honor to join Lane College’s Voices of Leadership series.
