Lane College Partners with The Links, Incorporated Jackson (TN) Chapter to Support Student Success

The Jackson, Tennessee, Chapter of The Links, Incorporated recently partnered with Lane College to provide a thoughtful contribution of essential hygienic products to the Lane College Pantry through their “Links Love HBCUs” initiative. This collaborative effort reflects a shared commitment to student success, wellness, and empowerment across Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

The initiative, part of The Links’ Services to Youth program chaired by Dr. Mechelle Moragne with Co-Chair Melinda Richardson, focuses on creating meaningful connections and supportive resources for students as they pursue higher education.

Chapter President Kimberly Jones shared, “We are honored to partner with Lane College through our Links Love HBCUs initiative. By providing essential products, we hope to support students’ confidence and well-being as they continue their academic journey.”

The Lane College Pantry, supported by the Division of Student Affairs, provides convenient access to food, personal care items, and household necessities. The pantry embodies the College’s commitment to holistic student support, ensuring that every Dragon is equipped to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Dr. Mechelle Moragne, Services to Youth Chair for the Jackson Chapter, emphasized the spirit of partnership and purpose behind the initiative. “Our goal is to uplift HBCUs like Lane College. Through efforts such as this, we are collaborating to make sure that students reach their full potential.”

Dr. Anthony T. Williams Jr., Vice President for Student Affairs at Lane College, expressed appreciation for the organization’s continued engagement. “We truly value our partnership with The Links, Incorporated. Together, we are creating pathways that empower our students to thrive,” said Dr. Williams. “Our partnership reflects a shared vision and commitment through service, excellence, and the empowerment of future leaders.”

The Lane College Pantry welcomes continued collaboration with community partners, alumni, and supporters who share in the College’s mission of student advancement. Non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products, and household essentials are accepted year-round.

Donations can be dropped off Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Student Affairs Office, located in the Water Tower Place For those wishing to make larger contributions or host a drive, please contact the Division of Student Affairs at 731-426-7500 or email studentaffairs@lanecollege.edu for coordination.
