Dear Lane College Class of 2020,

I applaud and salute you for persevering through a global pandemic to reach this critical milestone in your life and development as young adults. I know you’ve lost precious senior year moments on campus that simply cannot be replaced. Graduating from college is a moment that you and your families have earned and we want to make sure you’re celebrated and recognized in as many ways as possible.

This is why Lane College is participating in a National HBCU Virtual Commencement Celebration with 78 Historically Black Colleges and Universities on tomorrow, Saturday, May 16 at 1:00 p.m. (CST). The event is being organized by JP Morgan Chase, UNCF, and Thurgood Marshall College Fund. The organizers have lined up many special guests and speakers including former President Barack Obama and guest host Kevin Hart.

Although you’re transitioning into a world that’s undergoing massive change, please understand that you will still have a way forward and an opportunity to make your mark on the world.

So, tune in on tomorrow, Saturday, May 16, at 1:00 p.m. CST (yes, central standard time) as we celebrate Lane College's Class of 2020 by clicking here

Grace, mercy and peace,

Logan Hampton
President
