Jackson, Tenn. (February 3, 2020) - Jamilah Lemieux, Elizabeth Warren for President supporter, will stop at Lane College from 10:30 a.m. until noon on February 7 as part of her HBCU Tour. Lemieux will meet with members of the media at 10:30 a.m. before speaking to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. members at 11 a.m. in the Cyber Cafe inside the Water Tower Building on the Lane College campus.

"In 2016, 121,442 African-Americans participated in the Tennessee Democratic Primary. If this trend persists in 2020, African-Americans will determine how delegates are distributed across the state, and ultimately allocated to Elizabeth Warren," a press release from Lemieux stated. "To that end, it is imperative that we build programming that engages this key constituency and genuinely invites them to be a part of the WFP campaign.

"The HBCU Tour gives Tennessee the opportunity to engage African-American students, and extend outreach to African-American businesses, community leaders and elected officials."

Lane College President Logan Hampton and Alpha Kappa Alpha Chapter president will host the event in the Cyber Cafe.

The event will include a campaign kick-off and training session for the AKAs.
