Mission Statement
The Lane College AA in religion program is designed to provide persons with a general interest in the Christian faith with a basic understanding of what it means to be Christian in our time and in local and global contexts.
Goals
- To acquaint the student with the basic knowledge of the Christian texts, beliefs, history, ethics, and practice;
- To facilitate theological, philosophical, and ethical reflection on the Christian texts, beliefs, history, ethics, and practice;
- To enhance the student’s written and verbal abilities to articulate the understanding of Christian texts, beliefs, history, ethics, and practice.
Objectives
Students graduating with a 2.0 GPA or better will be able to:
- Understand and articulate effectively about Christian texts, beliefs, history, ethics, and practice;
- Utilize their understanding about the Christian texts, beliefs, history, ethics, and practice in professional
ministry settings;
- Prepare for careers in ministry or BA degree programs
