Welcome Home Dragons
We're excited to welcome you to Lane College! This checklist will help you prepare for a smooth move-in experience.
Before You Arrive:
- Registration: Make sure you're registered for Fall 2024 classes.
- (Freshmen/Transfers) Contact laneinstitute@lanecollege.edu
- (Returning/Re-Admits) Contact your advisor (find contact info in your Student CAMS Portal) if you haven't registered yet.
- Financial Aid:
- Complete your 2024-2025 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at (https://studentaid.gov/).
- Accept your financial aid award in your CAMS Student Portal.
- If you accept loans, complete your Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling at (https://studentaid.gov/). This may be required if you're selected for verification.
- Submit all verification documents if requested (e.g., parents' tax return).
- Student Accounts: Ensure you have a zero balance or set up a payment plan with Student Accounts.
- Housing:
- Complete your Housing Application and pay your $50 non-refundable Room Reservation Fee.
- We strongly recommend you ensure you have insured your personal items. Lane College has partnered with GradGuard Renters Insurance for affordable coverage. Visit GradGuard’s - Lane College Site to learn more today!
- Log into your Housing Portal to ensure you have received your Room Assignment.
Packing Prep:
- Use the college's Packing Guide as a checklist.
- Pack items in sturdy boxes, storage tubs, or easy-to-carry bags.
Move-In Dates:
- Approved Camps Participants: July 23rd (9:00 AM CST - 4:00 PM CST)
- New Students (First-Time Freshmen): August 2nd (8:00 AM CST - 5:00 PM CST) & August 3rd (9:00 AM CST - 5:00 PM CST)
- Returning, Transfer & Readmitted Students: August 6th & 7th (8:00 AM CST - 5:00 PM CST)
Arriving on Campus:
- Check-In will begin in the Kirkendoll Building on the upper level.
- Staff will review your clearance documents and provide further instructions. Don't go to your dorm without proper documentation!
- Once you have been cleared in all areas receive your Dragon Student ID Card, your residential room key, and move into your room.
- Pick up your textbooks at the Lane College bookstore.
Need to Move in on a Different Date/Time?
If you need to move into the residence hall on a different date or time due to travel restrictions, please contact housing@lanecollege.edu, Jbennett@lanecollege.edu, or Jmahone@lanecollege.edu before your scheduled move-in day to make the necessary arrangements.
