JACKSON, Tennessee, December 23, 2020: The first doses of the long-awaited coronavirus vaccine have arrived for the Lane College frontline student health team.

On December 22, Alicia Moore, a nurse in the Lane College Student Health Center, received her first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. As a frontline healthcare worker at Lane College, Nurse Moore is among the first to receive the new vaccine.

Despite the vaccine rollout, many Lane College COVID-19 health and safety guidelines will not change for the upcoming spring semester and it is expected to take a few more months until the vaccine is widely available to all Lane College students.

Throughout each vaccine distribution phase, Lane is encouraging all students, faculty and staff to continue necessary precautions and to follow protocols of the CDC and their healthcare provider. Lane is continuing to practice WWSS (Wear Your Mask, Wash Your Hands, Social Distance, and Self-Check) and has implemented extensive safety protocols across the campus. Additional information on COVID-safety and the Lane community is available here.
