Lane students attend the Xavier University's Health Disparities Conference

Ten HBCU Wellness Student Health Ambassadors (Jada Cain, Thomas McCaulley, Maya Leon, Topanga Jones, Christian Lee, Pariss Tennon, Nylah Berry, Keshun Malone, and C'Mari Hayes) attended the Xavier University of Louisiana's College of Pharmacy 17th Health Disparities Conference in New Orleans, LA, April 7- 9, 2024. Four Students, Jada Cain, Nylah Berry, Keshun Malone, and C'Mari Hayes, had their abstracts accepted for poster presentations at the conference. They displayed research projects to clinicians (pharmacists, physicians, nurses, physician assistants, and health professionals), health policymakers, health educators, researchers, and public and community health leaders – participants from clinical, research, and community audiences – whose work incorporates interdisciplinary providers engaged in addressing health disparities and increasing health and social justice.

This year's conference, a beacon of hope and progress, was titled 'Social Determinants of Health: Reaching Equity – Let's Talk Solutions'. It delved into crucial aspects of community engagement, policy, practice, education workforce, and science, offering a comprehensive approach to health disparities.
